We recently bought a new van for collecting furniture from people who kindly donated it to the Charity.
We offer a house clearance service ,then take the items to our Charity shop in Playa Flamenca like second hand clothes and bric a brac and large furniture to our Cabo Roig shop.
The Van is often used to take clothes and other items to sell to raise funds to Emerald Isle and to take us to many other venues for fundraising events.
It is also used to deliver donated furniture purchased by customers to their homes ( with a 5km radius) for a small delivery charge.
The Van is left empty at night.
On 5 November 2017 Marion Mason won a 7 day Mediterranean cruise at our Grand raffle at our Help at Home Fundraiser at Villamartin Plaza the cruise was taking place in February 2018
We ran this event in conjunction with Little Pods, animal rescue who do a wonderful job helping our furry friends.
As Marion is a volunteer at our Quesada branch it was a tremendous boost for her and her husband to win this prize.
Please find a few photographs of her memory making trip.
We recently had the plight of these homeless people brought to our attention by Tony and Eileen Mayes part of the congregation of the lnternational Christian Assembly in Torrevieja ( Eileen and Tony Mayes are our Volunteers too ).
So we donated half of the money and the Church the other half and bought the 200 eu generator. Please read all about this in the article attached
On Saturday 10th March 2018 we threw open our doors for all our volunteers and many local people to come and see where the offices and donated furniture showroom are located.
Amongst the 60 people who attended were: Elizabeth Bell, from the British Consulate, Sofia Alvarez the councillor for Extranjeros ( Foreigners) in Orihuela Costa, and representatives of various other local charities
They enjoyed some light refreshments and the opportunity to talk to our president Carmen Perez, and meet other Help at Home Costa Blanca volunteers.
The sun was shining and we are delighted to say the comments we received were very positive.
The offices and shop will go from strength to strength as our volunteers tirelessly give us their time to help people in need in our community.
